When Brass Meets Glass Jewelry Line Final Reveal!

LOmara Creative Handmade JewelryWhile I consider myself a good business person (I've owned my own successful web design, graphic design, and Internet Consulting business for the past 15 years), when it came to the jewelry I create, I've always thought of myself as a hobbyist.  So, three months ago when I started the Build A Line Challenge by B'Sue Boutiques, little did I know that I would learn so much and begin to seriously consider my jewelry "hobby" as a business.  The wonderful Brenda Sue Lansdowne (the B'Sue of B'Sue Boutiques) conceived, organized, tutored, supported, and mentored, pushed, cajoled, kicked butt, and basically gave all of herself to support 55 of us through what really is a master class in (so much more than) building a jewelry line!

I have felt that I'm starting something new and exciting and trusting in the magic of new beginnings, without further ado, here is the reveal of my new line, When Glass meets Brass!

Below are the necklaces that make up the main part of my new line.  All of the pieces in the line feature the wonderful handmade Grace Lampwork beads by Grace Ma (the glass) and fine quality U.S. made brass components (the brass) along with Swaraovski crystals, Czech glass beads, pearls and quality chain.

And, when you're wearing these wonderful necklaces, a pair of matching earrings will set them off nicely. Many of the same beads are used in the earrings that are used in the necklaces.

Here's a closer look at the Spring necklace and earrings featuring a Grace lampwork bead with pink and blue flowers set against an ivory base with green leaves.

Once I had these necklaces and earrings made, I decided to add a bracelet to two of the sets. The set on the left uses painted brass, purple Grace Lampwork beads and a bangle bracelet.  The set on the right uses roseoOx Brass, purple Grace Lampwork beads, and a rose ox brass stamping bracelet with beads and pearls.

I did make one necklace that doesn't have matching earrings yet, but they are in progress.

Because I love dragonflies, I also created a necklace and earrings using Grace Lampwork dragonfly beads and aqua copper finish brass.

I also included some higher end creations for those that enjoy more extravagant necklaces.

That's everything that I have done as of now, but there are more pieces in progress.  I also intend to start selling online as well at artisan fairs.  While I love working with the lampwork beads, I'll be happy to start designing pieces again that may not include lampwork beads.  I have so many ideas swirling in my head from the inspiration in this challenge/class.  Because of what I've learned over the past three months, I'm thinking differently about how I design now and have other lines in mind.  I'll still do one-of-a-kind creations, but I'll be a smarter jewelry designer now than I was at the end of 2014!

The past three months have been a challenge and a blessing.  I'm so grateful to Brenda Sue Lansdowne for conceiving of and giving birth to this first class/challenge and for allowing me to be a part of it.  Brenda is one of the most generous, giving and fun people that I've ever known.  I am grateful to have her in my life as a friend, mentor, inspiration, supporter, and even as a client!  I'm also grateful to the Fabulous Four Colorado Connection, Alexandra Sefton, Lori Prull Meyer and Maria Clark for joining in this madness!

To the other 54 Build a Line Challenge Participants, all of those in the B'Sue Boutiques Creative Group, and friends I say thank you for your support, comments, discussions,  complements and everything you brought to the party!  Everyday I've looked forward to checking my Facebook feed to see what everyone is posting.  I love all the kitty pictures, especially Toby and Meep (Tessa Kitty's boyfriend).  I've enjoyed being introduced to other non-humans including dogs, birds and even lizards!  I've become Facebook friends with many of the participants and have not regretted it for one minute.  My Facebook feed is filled with positive sayings, beautful colorful pictures, weather conditions, trials and tribulations and celebrations of life, and of course, fabulous jewelry!!  I look forward to  continuing to be a part of this wonderful community that Brenda put together!

LOmara Creative Handmade JewelrySpeaking of Tessa, she's feeling neglected since I've been taking photos and writing this blog, but she's taking a peek out from her paper fort to make her appearance known.  I've promised her tuna and lots of attention over the next couple of days!

The Other Jewelry Artists

Please be sure to visit all of the other participants in this, our final blog hop, to see all of the wonderful creations and lines from this talented group of artists!  I'll also be visiting all of them over the next several days and can't wait to see what everyone is revealing for their new jewelry lines

Build A Line Challenge
Below is a list of the other jewelry artists and designers that have participated in this journey with Tessa and me.  Whether you're in the challenge or are someone who just found my blog, please visit the blogs below and feel free to leave comments if you like their story or their designs (or their assistants) for encouragement.  We're all in this together and at the end, we are all better designers offering wonderful lines of jewelry to the world.

Thank you!

Lampwork beads are small treasures all by themselves. You have the knack of showcasing them without taking too much attention from them by their surroundings. Loving that purple set and especially love the bracelets!

I totally am mad for the last purple set, and a so love how you used the flower pieces behind the lampwork with color and rhinestones! Your pieces are just astoundingly beautiful. What a touch with color you have! I hope you have a lot more back-ups made cuz these will sell out fast! The green spring necklace is another of my top faves! And all your hand-made chains so set off your pendants. Way to rock GF!! <3
